Spring Dock and Boat Lift Maintenance!

May long weekend is quickly approaching and we are looking forward to some warm weather (hopefully)! If you're planning to visit your waterfront property, we encourage you to abide by the regulations set forth by your provincial government.

Follow these simple steps for getting your aluminum dock and boat lift ready for the summer season!

1. Inspect...

The first task is to inspect your dock and boat lift for any signs of wear that could be dangerous. Asses your dock and lift from multiple angles, including the bottom. If you're unsure whether or not something is safe, make sure to check with a professional. It's never a bad idea to take a photo of your dock and lift from year to year so you can see how they are changing/holding up.

2. Clean...

A great thing about our aluminum docks and Aqua-dek decking is that it is incredibly easy to clean. The decking features a slotted surface which is really handy because dirt and debris don't get caught in it. When it comes to cleaning your dock or lift, make sure to use non-toxic cleaning products that will not be harmful to the environment.

3. Accessorize!

Now that you are sure your dock and lift are safe and clean, it's time to accessorize. There are a variety of 'hardware' options to protect your dock and lift from damage. Check out our dock accessories if you are interested in replacing or upgrading your decking, wheels, or bumpers. In regards to your lift, check out our lift accessories if you are interested in upgrading your bunks, getting boat lift guides, or simplifying your installation process with Smarte Jacks.

Now that you're ready to get back on the water, stay safe and enjoy your long weekend!
